”Denna Missa brevis är skriven för kör SSA, cello och marimba, men den är även möjlig att framföra utan marimbastämman. I sådant fall, förutom förlusten av den klang som är tänkt, går harmoniken och rytmiken förlorade på en del ställen. Även en del partier där marimban imiterar cellon går förlorade.
I en missa brevis (kort mässa) är det inte ovanligt att den textligt omfångsrika Credosatsen utelämnas. Så även i denna komposition. För att ytterligare förkorta mässans längd har i Gloriasatsen bitvis använts en teknik som bl.a. Haydn använt sig av och som innebär att körstämmorna sjunger olika textpartier samtidigt.

”This Missa brevis is composed for SSA, cello and marimba, but it could also be performed without the marimba part. If so, in addition to missing out on the intended sound, certain elements of harmony and rhythm will be lost. This also goes for the passages where the marimba imitates the cello.
In a missa brevis (short mass), it is not uncommon that the extensive Credo is omitted, as I have done. Occasionally, to further shorten the mass, I make use of a technique that Haydn among others employed for the Gloria, where the singers sing different sections of the text at the same time.
