The Seldom Seen Kid is more commercial than previous albums and has brought the band the recognition they rightly deserve, winning the Mercury 'Best Album'. The band also picked up the Brit Award for ‘Best British Band’ and the NME ‘Outstanding Contribution to British Music’ prize in February 2009.
